Posted by scottstead on Apr 10, 2009 in DC Social Media, Karaoke, Vlog
Again, playing catch up, this is video from the early February meetup of TechKaraoke DC. A whole slew of DC Twitterati showed up for the convention and sang their hearts out. Featured in this video is Aaron Brazell, Justin Herman, Jamy Barab, Leslie Bradshaw, Heather Rider, Andrea Baker, Jessica Capak, and some guy doing a modified version of the worm. Oh, what a night!

Hall of Horrors: Videoblogging Week 2009 Day 4

Posted by scottstead on Apr 10, 2009 in Vlog
These creepy creatures have been sitting dormant on my hard drive waiting to terrorize the world in video form. This was shot at the Rennaisance Festival in Maryland just outside of Washington, D.C. last year. Their collection of ghouls and goblins, beasts and freaks rivals any I’ve seen. File under frightening.

November 2008 Tweetup: Videoblogging Week 2009 Day 3

Posted by scottstead on Apr 10, 2009 in DC Social Media, Twitter, Vlog
Long past due, this video has been sitting in my ‘unedited’ folder for months. I figured that I owed it to the Jagermeister girls, Aaron “Technosailor” Brazell, Andrew Feinberg, Jamy Barab, Judy Buttons, and Steelers Nation to get this video up. It’s nothing amazing, it’s just a night out with some friends captured for all times. Oh, and I lay out the meaning of life somewhere in the middle there.

Pickle Making 101: Videoblogging Week 2009 Day 2

Posted by scottstead on Apr 8, 2009 in Dining, DIY, Vlog
Alas! I’ve ventured into the land of pickling, and furthermore documenting the process. For months now I’ve been purchasing pickles from the “pickle man” at Eastern Market, and on the same weekend that I decided to DIY some beer, I decided to DIY some pickles as well. Learn to make pickles in 5 simple steps and about $20 worth of ingredients. It’s a blast, I assure you. p.s. I’ve continued to play with iMovie 09 to expedite my video making process so forgive the gratuitous ‘theme’ transitions. They’re so much fun! A huge thanks to Judy Buttons for the camera work on the project!

The Littlest Giant: Videoblogging Week 2009 Day 1

Posted by scottstead on Apr 7, 2009 in Life, Sports, Travel, Vlog
Whilst in North Carolina this weekend my six year old cousin donned his favorite football uniform in honor of the mighty Tar Heels and related to me a recap of one of his favorite films, “The Little Giants”. Upon the completion of said recap, he broke down into one of his “world famous” victory dances. This is posted in the spirit of Videoblogging Week 2009, my first participation in the project.  I’ve watched it fly by before and never jumped in – but I figured it was time to get involved.  Thanks to Steve Garfield I decided to abandon Final Cut for a simple project and give ILife 09 a shot with the ever popular Comic Book theme. Thanks Steve and a huge thanks to everyone in the Videoblogging group for giving me yet another reason to post videos that would either wise seem inane and forever remain in my folder of unedited, unposted “stuff.”
