When I get an itching for the outdoors, fortunately we’ve got the National Arboretum in our backyard here in D.C. Just off of Route 50 in North East Washington, the Arboretum is a great way to get away from the concrete jungle and get back in sync with nature for a bit. This trip yielded the usual stop at the koi pond, a jaunt through the Bonsai and Penjing Museum, a stop at the old Capitol columns, and a good look at the Youth Garden (complete with an interview with Anne Nourse one of the wonderful volunteers at the National Arboretum). Thank you Anne for your time!
